Once you are logged In, you will notice the dashboard homepage. The menu bar on the left panel provides us the options to provision cloud resources.

To create your first VM(virtual machine)

  • Select and expand the Compute menu item on the left menu pane.

  • Select Instances submenu to view the list of existing VMs and other options.

Click on  CREATE INSTANCE button and you will be taken through the below four steps of to launch your new VM.

(a) Base Config

  • Choose Flavour

Flavours represent the Hardware Specification of the Instance.

  • Choose Image

Image is the base Operating System of the Instance.

  • Choose System Disk

Always choose RBD Type. Click inside the Size Input Field. It will update the size automatically.

(b) Network Config

  • Choose Networks

Always Choose Internal_Network from the Shared_Networks tab

  • Choose Security Group

The security group is similar to the firewall function and is used to set up network access control. You can either create a new SG or choose among the already created SGs.  Always choose default.

In this case, you can ignore other input/selection fields such as Virtual LAN and Ports.

(c) System Config

  • Provide a Name for Instance

  • Choose Login Type
You have two options to choose Login Type via either KeyPair or Password. Here always Choose Keypair. You should have the private key file in your system before you choose from already created Keypairs. So always create a New KeyPair with proper identification Name.

(d) Confirm Config

Confirm the chosen configurations

In this page you can see a summary of your chosen Configurations. Read and double check all the details. Then Apply Confirm

Now Your Instance will begin to create

First the status of Instance will be “Build”. Please wait patiently until its status changes to “Active”.
